"L'Équipe" Praises Zbiri's Impressive Start
The French newspaper "L'Équipe" has praised the remarkable performance of Moroccan international Yassir Zbiri, forward for Racing Santander, after he led his team to a 2-1 victory over Alavés in the fifth round of La Liga, scoring both goals.
The newspaper reported that Zbiri, who is 21 years old, is having an impressive start with his new team after joining on loan from French club Rennes, which signed him from Famalicão for 10 million euros. It noted that the Moroccan striker scored a hat-trick in his first start against Elche in the third round.
"L'Équipe" confirmed that Zbiri continued his excellent form against Alavés, scoring the equalizer in the 38th minute before netting the winner in the 53rd minute.
It highlighted that Zbiri's brace brought his tally to five goals in five matches, making him one of the standout players for Racing Santander at the start of the season and contributing to the team's rise to tenth place with seven points.
