"MAS" Overcomes Burkinabe Rahimo Challenge
The Moroccan club MAS has qualified for the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League after drawing 0-0 with their hosts Rahimo in the return leg of the first preliminary round held today in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
MAS was close to qualification after winning the first leg 4-1, confirming their advancement on aggregate despite the goalless draw in the return match.
The first half saw a competitive exchange of attacks between the two teams, with MAS goalkeeper Salah Eddine Chihab being the standout performer, saving several chances to keep a clean sheet.
The same situation continued in the second half, with both teams creating opportunities but failing to score, resulting in a 0-0 draw and MAS advancing to the second preliminary round.
In the next stage, MAS will face the winner of the match between Ivorian ASEC Mimosas and Togolese ESCK, noting that the first leg between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw, with the return leg to be played in Abidjan.
