The national teams began their participation in the twelfth edition of the African University Games held in Cairo, Egypt, from September 8 to 16, with fruitful results last Thursday.
They managed to secure 4 gold medals, including one for the university badminton team and three in swimming.
Algeria is participating in this continental event with a delegation of 173 people, including 144 male and female athletes and 29 coaches and officials, representing the national colors in 11 sports disciplines, including team, individual, and combat sports.
The Algerian participation comes as part of efforts to support and develop university sports, showcase young national talents, and enhance Algeria's presence in various continental and international competitions.
The twelfth edition of the African University Games will continue in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, until September 16, with hopes that the national teams will continue to achieve more medals.
