The Super Eagles' goalkeeper from Nigeria, Stanley Nwabali, has re-signed with South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) team Chippa United just days after being seen training with the squad.
Nwabali has returned to Chippa as they kick off their preparations for the 2026/27 season under the management of coach Brandon Truter.
His earlier exit from Chippa this year took many by surprise following his standout performances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he played a crucial role in securing a bronze medal for the Super Eagles via a penalty shootout victory over Egypt.
Chippa confirmed Nwabali’s return in a statement, expressing: Chippa United Football Club is thrilled to welcome Stanley Nwabali back to the Chilli Boys.
“After taking some time away, Stanley Nwabali is back in the Eastern Cape, and we are happy to have him return to the club.”
