Premier League team Fulham have finalized personal agreements with Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu as they intensify their efforts to acquire the highly-regarded centre-back.
The Cottagers have prioritized Nwaiwu as a key defensive target this summer and remain resolute in their pursuit despite facing challenges from Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor.
Fulham has already had two bids turned down by the Black Sea Storm, but the London side is anticipated to present an enhanced offer in an effort to finalize the transfer.
As reported by French outlet Foot Mercato, Nwaiwu has consented to a four-year deal with Alvaro Arbeloa’s team, clearing the path for the clubs to negotiate a transfer fee.
However, Trabzonspor is steadfast in their assessment of the Nigerian international and is believed to be seeking a minimum of €30 million before permitting his exit.

The 22-year-old recently transferred to Trabzonspor from Austrian Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC in January, but his stellar performances have swiftly garnered attention from multiple European teams.
Nwaiwu had an exceptional second half of the season in Turkey, featuring in 21 matches across all competitions, netting three goals and providing one assist.
His authoritative performances, calmness on the ball, and aerial prowess have positioned him as one of the most promising young defenders in the Turkish top division.
Fulham is eager to enhance their defensive lineup ahead of the upcoming Premier League season and considers Nwaiwu a long-term investment with the potential to become a pivotal player at Craven Cottage.
Discussions between the two clubs are expected to progress in the upcoming days as Fulham seeks to strike a deal with Trabzonspor and finalize the transfer.
