The Paris Marathon, one of the most popular in the world, will take place on April 4, 2027, in the streets of the capital, announced the Cadence group, the new organizer of the event, which offers a flat fee of 169 euros. In a significant innovation, access to race numbers will be determined by a lottery, a common method in many renowned marathons, replacing the old "first come, first served" system. "The goal is to restore a sense of calm in the process of obtaining race numbers. The old system caused stress," the organizers stated. Until now, race numbers for the following year's Paris Marathon went on sale the day after the current edition, and the approximately 60,000 available numbers took several months to sell out.
