The Egyptian Football Association's referees committee will hold a technical meeting today, Saturday, at 1 PM at the EFA headquarters in Gabalaya. The meeting aims to review and analyze the controversial refereeing decisions that occurred during the fourth round of the Premier League, as part of the committee's commitment to evaluate the performance of match officials and improve refereeing standards in the upcoming period.
Discussion of Controversial Cases and Clips
The meeting will include a presentation of video clips and recordings from the matches to discuss the critical decisions made on the field or through the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system. The committee aims to assess the accuracy of refereeing judgments on important decisions and to correct mistakes to avoid their recurrence in future rounds.
The referees committee has decided not to make significant changes to the international referees list, preferring to maintain the technical stability and accumulated experience of the current officials in the upcoming period.
Sources within the referees committee indicated that the only approved change in the new list is the removal of international referee Mahmoud Ashour from the VAR officials list, with plans to select and prepare a qualified replacement for this international position.
The committee noted that the policy of maintaining the core structure of the international list aims to provide maximum continuity and focus for the refereeing officials, in line with plans to develop the refereeing system and enhance its presence on continental and global stages.
