Our national team concluded its participation in the African Karate Championship for seniors, youth, and juniors held in Algeria by topping the standings with a total of 50 medals, including gold, silver, and bronze.
Claiming the Top Spot in the African Championship
Egypt led the African championship by a margin of nine medals over Algeria, which secured second place in the overall standings.
Our athletes achieved a remarkable feat at the African championship, winning 50 medals, comprising 30 gold, 8 silver, and 12 bronze, marking a historic achievement for Egyptian karate.
Additionally, our team achieved further success today in the team events, as the kata and kumite champions continued to collect gold medals, reflecting the strength of the Egyptian team and the synergy of technical and administrative efforts, along with the determination that characterizes the Pharaohs in continental competitions.
Mohamed Dahrawy, President of the Egyptian Karate Federation, expressed gratitude to the coaching staff and players for this historic achievement, which adds to the legacy of the players and the entire board.
Karaté Dedicate the Achievement to the Minister of Youth and Sports
He added that the board dedicates this significant achievement to Ashraf Nabiel, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Engineer Yasser Idris, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, in appreciation of the support and assistance received by Egyptian sports and its champions, which serves as a continuous motivation to achieve more accomplishments and elevate Egypt's name in various arenas.
The federation also extends its warmest congratulations to the Egyptian state, its leadership and people, to the fans of Egyptian sports, to the entire Egyptian karate family, and to everyone who contributed to this great achievement.
He added that winning 50 diverse medals at the African Championship represents a final harvest that writes a new chapter in the history of Egyptian karate, confirming that Egypt is the dominant force on the throne of African karate.
