The Atalanta forward participated in Ghana's opening match against Panama but was relegated to the bench in the following fixtures after a lackluster performance. For the Right to Dream Academy alumnus, this marked his third senior tournament with the national squad and his second World Cup, yet he has yet to fully impress the fans whenever he dons the Black Stars jersey. Despite the difficulties with the national team, Sulemana is confident that the lessons learned in North America will enhance his growth and that of the team. "I am extremely grateful and honored to represent my country on the international stage once more. It's a privilege I will always cherish," he shared on social media. "We understand the significance of football to Ghana, and we poured our hearts into making the nation proud and providing Ghanaians with something to celebrate, especially during challenging times. Unfortunately, we didn't achieve our goal, but we will take this experience to heart, work even harder, and strive to give something special back to the people of Ghana." "I deeply appreciate the love and support shown by all Ghanaians, both directly and indirectly. There are numerous lessons to take away, but also moments to take pride in. FOREVER GRATEFUL. God bless Ghana." Sulemana is set to return to Ghana for a break before heading to Italy for pre-season training with the Bergamo-based club.
