No goalkeeper has managed to save more. Bounou's World Cup journey is not a recent phenomenon. During Qatar 2022, he emerged as Morocco's savior in a dramatic shootout triumph over Spain, saving two penalties and becoming only the second goalkeeper in history to complete a World Cup shootout without conceding a single goal. At the 2026 tournament, he further enhanced his legacy by stopping the crucial penalty against the Netherlands in the round of 32.
