This match will take place on September 25 at the Hocine Ait Ahmed Stadium in Tizi-Ouzou (20:00, Algerian time). The Fennecs will then face Burundi in a second match on Tuesday, September 29, in Bujumbura (14:00, Algerian time). The date for this second match in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations was announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Friday, September 4.

With these two crucial matches for qualification to the next edition of the African tournament, which will be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, the Greens will soon be informed of the name of their future coach. The successor to Vladimir Petkovic will be revealed on Saturday, September 5, as announced by the Algerian Football Federation on Wednesday, September 2.

According to our information, former Algerian international midfielder and current coach of the Algeria U21 team, who recently won the Mediterranean Games (JM 2026) in Taranto, Brahim Hemdani is expected to be appointed tomorrow as the head coach of the Fennecs.
For the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the first two matchdays are scheduled from September 24 to October 6, 2026. They will resume from November 9 to 17, while the last two matchdays are set for March 22 to 30, 2027.
