2025 F1 Academy titleholder Doriane Pin establishes a timeline for securing a Formula 1 racing position.
Mercedes Formula 1 development driver Doriane Pin has established a five-year goal to attain a race seat on the F1 grid.
In a recent Mercedes In Convo With Kids interview, the French racer articulated her long-term aspirations and her conviction that female drivers can achieve championship success. When posed the question of where she envisions herself in five years, Pin replied candidly: "In Formula 1."
"That would be fantastic. It will create opportunities for all the girls aspiring to be Formula 1 drivers."
After clinching the F1 Academy championship in 2025, Pin joined the Brackley team as a development driver and made history as the first woman to operate a Mercedes F1 car at Silverstone in April 2026, testing the W12 from the 2021 season.
In addition to her F1 responsibilities, the 22-year-old also serves as a development driver for Peugeot in the World Endurance Championship and Citroën in Formula E. She participates in the Le Mans Prototype 2 Pro-Am class of the European Le Mans Series with the Duqueine Team.
Pin is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusivity within the motorsport sector.

"Diversity, in general," she remarked regarding one change she would like to see in the world. "In sports and beyond, I believe we need more diversity.
"There should be more chances for everyone. Particularly given my experiences in a male-dominated field like motorsport. It would be advantageous to have more women in Formula 1 as well."
If Pin succeeds in reaching F1, she would join a select group of female drivers who have piloted modern-era F1 cars. F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff participated in official free practice sessions for Williams in 2014, becoming the first woman to take part in a grand prix weekend in 22 years.
More recently, Aston Martin ambassador Jessica Hawkins completed a 26-lap test in the AMR21 at the Hungaroring in September 2023.
