McLaren unveils an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse of Lando Norris's hypercar test.

"A bit different, had a roof over my head!" Norris remarked after his initial run. "It's just unlike what I'm accustomed to, but definitely enjoyable."

The British driver completed 38 laps at the Algarve International Circuit, covering a total distance of 177km.

"First off, a huge thank you to the McLaren Hypercar Team for allowing me to drive the MCL-HY," Norris expressed after the test day. "It was fantastic for them to give me the opportunity to have some fun and try something fresh, especially during their hectic preparations for next year. 

"I believe we also gathered some important data, and I hope I was able to offer a different set of insights, feedback, and perspectives, which can be beneficial for the team in this vital testing phase.

"It was personally gratifying for me to collaborate with this team, and it was thrilling to experiment with new machinery as well. I haven't participated in a proper test in anything other than an F1 car for several years, so having the chance to try something different, especially still as part of the McLaren family, was a remarkable experience. 

"It was an enjoyable day in a fast car on an exciting track, contributing to the team's preparations for the start of WEC next year. A big thank you to everyone involved, and I look forward to getting back in the car soon."
