Amina Arafa is now officially the world number one in the Professional Squash Association women's rankings at just 19 years and 2 months old, making her the youngest woman to achieve this feat, surpassing the record set by New Zealand's Susan Devoy in 1984.
The emerging Egyptian champion Amina Arafa claimed the title at the Qatar Classic Squash Championship, which is the second tournament of the new 2026-2027 season, held from September 12 to 18 in the Qatari capital, Doha, with a prize pool of $220,000, placing it among the platinum tournaments.

Amina Arafa triumphed in the final match against world number one Hania El Hammamy, the defending champion, winning with a score of 3-2 after 107 minutes of play. The game scores were as follows: 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 12-10.
