A Final-Like Match for the Atlas Lionesses
The official website of FIFA highlighted the crucial importance of the upcoming clash between Morocco and Argentina, scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, in Rabat, as part of the third and final round of Group A in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, taking place from October 17 to November 7.
Under the title "Morocco vs. Argentina, a Final-Like Match for the Atlas Lionesses," the international site noted that both teams are aiming to continue their journey in the tournament, having each secured one win and one loss in the previous two rounds.
The site explained that Morocco "holds the advantage in goal difference; however, the challenge remains the same for both, as they must fight with all their strength to keep their fate in their own hands."
FIFA confirmed that the "Atlas Lionesses," supported by their fans, will rely on the experience gained from the previous edition and their collective strength to advance to the next stage.
The Moroccan team began the tournament with a convincing victory over New Zealand (4-0) but suffered a loss to Germany (2-4). On the other hand, the revitalized Argentine team rekindled its hopes with a win over New Zealand (2-0), after losing its first match against Germany (1-2).
Germany leads the group with six points, having secured its place in the Round of 16, while both Morocco and Argentina have three points each.
FIFA also emphasized the importance of this match for the Argentine team, which is participating in the tournament for the first time and is looking to extend its journey in the competition.
As for the Moroccan players, their goal is to confirm the progress they have made since their first participation and to leverage the home advantage and support to move on to the knockout stage.
The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup features 24 teams divided into six groups, with the top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, advancing to the Round of 16.
