The second edition of the AJSL U17 Football tournament, organized by the Youth Association for Sports and Leisure (AJSL), concluded on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Bittou Omnisports Stadium. Dakou-Dakou FC claimed the trophy against Dakouhan FC in a penalty shootout (5-4) after a goalless draw (0-0) in regulation time.

Under the patronage of His Majesty Nääba Kib-Korgo of Bittou, the final attracted a large crowd. Lamine Diabaté, the president of the special delegation of the Bittou municipality, present on this day, praised the community's commitment and the efforts made by the AJSL.

“We commend the engagement of the population around this event. We also congratulate the young athletes and the association for their hard work. Sports is a vehicle for social cohesion and brings communities together,” he stated.

On the field, both teams provided a well-balanced match. Despite several chances for both sides, neither team managed to score during the 90 minutes. A penalty shootout was necessary to determine the winner.

In this challenge, Dakou-Dakou FC demonstrated greater precision and triumphed 5-4, securing the trophy for this second edition.

For AJSL president Issouf Zampou, the competition's outcome is positive.

“The outcome is positive. We observed strong mobilization from the community. At times, it felt like it wasn’t just Bittou involved, but the entire region was rallying around the competition. With six teams participating and 16 matches played, we had great encounters and a lot of enthusiasm,” he emphasized.

This second edition was also marked by the introduction of a best player award for each match, an initiative aimed at further highlighting the performances of young talents.

In terms of rewards, Dakou-Dakou FC receives the trophy, a set of jerseys, and a cash prize of 150,000 F CFA. The runner-up, Dakouhan FC, takes home a set of jerseys and 100,000 F CFA. The third-place team receives a set of jerseys and 50,000 F CFA.

The team with the best fair play is honored with a trophy and 50,000 F CFA, while special awards come with a trophy and 10,000 F CFA.

Following this second edition, the AJSL is already looking to the future. For the third edition, the association hopes to increase the number of participating teams and expand the competition to clubs in the region.

“For the third edition, we want to go even further, with a larger number of teams and an opening to clubs from the entire region,” concluded Issouf Zampou.
