The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is preparing for a major strategic meeting. The 54 member federations of the organization are expected to gather from October 7 to 9, 2026, in Santa Maria, Cape Verde, to discuss the future of football on the African continent.
This meeting aims to analyze the results of the participation of the ten African teams in the 2026 World Cup, while also keeping in mind the 2030 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
The presidents of the member federations, officials from the zonal unions, and members of the CAF Executive Committee will participate in the discussions. Coaches of the ten African teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup, as well as those from the 44 non-qualified nations, will also be invited.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino and several figures from international football are expected to attend this conference, an initiative of CAF President Patrice Motsepe.
