German media are buzzing about Ismaël Saibari. The attacking midfielder for Bayern Munich, who joined the club from PSV Eindhoven at the beginning of the summer, scored his first goal for the Rekordmeister on Friday night during the match against Union Berlin (7-0).
Saibari replaced Luís Díaz in the 63rd minute and just seven minutes later, he made it 5-0. The Moroccan international used his physique brilliantly before striking with power.
“Upon entering the game, he quickly found his footing,” noted Sport, which gave him a score of 1.5 (in Germany, 1 is the best score and 6 is the worst).
“He scored after a superb solo run and, in stoppage time, he nearly added a second goal.”
The Abendzeitung München awarded him a score of 2. “He replaced Díaz on the left flank and scored the fifth goal of the evening with a determined individual effort. His first goal since transferring from Eindhoven.”
Spox also gave him a 2 and mentioned a “magnificent solo run” that led to the goal. “This goal follows three assists in the first three matches of the season.”
The RAN also rated Saibari a 2 and described him as a “dangerous player.” “In the seventieth minute, he initiated an irresistible solo run. He finished superbly, making it 5-0.”
Saibari appears to be adapting easily to the level at Bayern. To date, he has played seven matches with the Bavarian club, proving decisive as a substitute in most of those games.
