Samir Chergui was absent during the match between Paris FC and Strasbourg this Saturday at the Jean-Bouin Stadium. The Algerian defender had to withdraw due to illness, having recently made three consecutive starts with the Parisian club.
This absence comes just days before his expected return to the national team. Selected by Brahim Hemdani for the September gathering, Chergui is set to join the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa this Monday, aiming to establish himself in the new cycle of the Greens.
At 27 years old, the defender hopes to regain a key position in the national team after being hampered by several injuries since the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Regularly called up under Vladimir Petkovic, he earned his first cap in October 2025.
