After facing criticism for his lack of effectiveness with Algeria during the international break, Mounsef Bakrar made a brilliant comeback with Al Ahly. Coming on as a substitute in the second half during the Cairo derby against Zamalek, the forward found the back of the net.

The Cairo derby proved to be favorable for Mounsef Bakrar. Returning from the international break with Algeria, where he had failed to make an impact, the Algerian forward rediscovered his scoring touch with Al Ahly at the perfect moment, during the 6th round of the Egyptian league against Zamalek.

Substituted in at the 66th minute for Soufiane Benjdida, Bakrar made a difference in just a quarter of an hour. In the 80th minute, Zizo, Al Ahly's number 25, accelerated before passing the ball to the Algerian. With his back to goal, he controlled the ball, evaded his defender, and shifted slightly to the left before shooting.

At the edge of the penalty area, Bakrar then executed a low shot with his left foot that nestled into the left side netting of Mahdi Soliman. A composed finish that brought the score to 2-0, securing Al Ahly's victory. A successful introduction for the former Dinamo Zagreb striker, who had been criticized for his lack of efficiency during his last appearance with the national team.

This goal comes at a crucial time for Bakrar, who needed to regain his confidence. With this derby victory, Al Ahly temporarily takes the lead in the league with 16 points, awaiting the match against Pyramids.
