After returning from international duty with Algeria, Himad Abdelli quickly regained a starting position in the Marseille team. In the match against Troyes, the Algerian midfielder converted a penalty to make it 2-0 and contributed to the resurgence of the Phocaeans.

Recently called up to the national team after being sidelined for the 2026 World Cup, Himad Abdelli had playing time under Brahim Hemdani during the last gathering. Back in Marseille after the international break, the Algerian midfielder immediately returned to the starting eleven.

In the match against Troyes, Himad Abdelli started alongside two other Algerian players: Amine Gouiri and young Kelyann Bezahaf, who was also included in the starting lineup. Gouiri was substituted during the match, while Abdelli played until the final whistle.

With OM leading 1-0 thanks to Amine Harit, the Phocaeans earned a penalty in stoppage time. Abdelli took charge: a slight push in his run, waiting for the goalkeeper's movement, then a well-placed shot. His penalty allowed Marseille to extend the lead and seal the victory 2-0 in the 98th minute.

A crucial goal for Abdelli, who regains confidence after his return to the Greens. He is also decisive for OM, who end a streak of four consecutive defeats in Ligue 1 and can finally breathe after several particularly challenging weeks.
