Rafik Guitane found the back of the net with Estoril, but his equalizer was not enough to prevent another defeat. The Portuguese club is now on a five-match winless streak and is sinking to the bottom of the standings.

GD Estoril Praia continues to struggle. During their trip to Viseu for the 8th round of the Portuguese league, the bottom-placed team desperately needed points to turn things around. Despite a goal from Rafik Guitane, the visitors ultimately lost 2-1 in the dying moments.

The Algerian international had brought his team back into the match in the 56th minute. Served in a particularly crowded penalty area, Guitane did not hesitate. The left-footer took a shot and struck the ball well to find the back of the net and equalize for Estoril.

However, this equalizer was not enough. Just as Estoril seemed to be heading for a valuable point, Viseu made the difference late in the match to secure the win. Another disappointment for Guitane and his teammates, who now face a worrying streak of four defeats and one draw in their last five matches.

The situation is becoming alarming. Stuck at the bottom of the table, Estoril could quickly find themselves in a relegation battle. This is not a good prospect for Rafik Guitane, who is looking to regain positive momentum to stay on the radar of the Algerian national team.

For the record, Rafik Guitane now has 7 appearances in Liga Portugal this season, including 4 as a starter, totaling 369 minutes played. His goal against Académico de Viseu is his first of the season.
