Ibrahim Maza continues to evolve with the Algeria national team. Already recognized as one of the key architects of the Greens' attacking play, the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder once again stood out during the 3-1 victory against Zambia, marking the first match of Brahim Hemdani as the national team's coach.

With a stunning goal and an assist, Maza was rightly named man of the match. Very active between the lines, technically precise, and capable of energizing the play, he constantly tested the Zambian defense. His performance also earned him a spot in the best XI of the first day of the CAN 2027 qualifiers on Sofascore.

With a rating of 8.7, the Algerian international received the fourth-best evaluation in this best XI. This new recognition confirms his rising status within the Greens, where he seems to have established himself as one of the main drivers of the attacking play.

Algeria is now preparing for its trip to Burundi, scheduled for the second day of the qualifiers. Brahim Hemdani will, however, have to manage a squad reduced by two players: Amine Gouiri, ruled out due to injury, and Rayan Aït-Nouri, excluded from the gathering for disciplinary reasons. In this context, Maza is expected to continue playing a key role in Algeria's offensive play.
