Amine Gouiri shone once again on the European stage. Against Bayer Leverkusen, the Marseille striker scored a stunning goal, helping his team secure a crucial victory, in a match also featuring Himad Abdelli and Ibrahim Maza.

Marseille finally records its first victory in the Europa League, largely thanks to Amine Gouiri. Playing away at Bayer Leverkusen this Thursday, during the fourth matchday of the group stage, Olympique de Marseille triumphed with a narrow score of (0-1), thanks to a spark of creativity from their Algerian forward.

Starting from the beginning, Gouiri quickly demonstrated his threat. In the opening minutes, he nearly opened the scoring after an impressive control followed by a nutmeg on Quansah, but his close-range attempt was saved by German goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Maza was also active in the German attacks. The young Algerian international was proactive in building Bayer's play, making several initiatives and ball recoveries to try to disrupt the Marseille defense. Himad Abdelli also participated in this match, adding an interesting dimension to this clash between three Algerian internationals.

The turning point of the match came in the 77th minute. Starting from his own half, Gouiri embarked on a long solo run down the left flank before cutting inside and eliminating his opponent. At the edge of the box, the Fennec unleashed a precise right-footed shot that found the opposite top corner, leaving Flekken with no chance.

This goal rewards another convincing performance from the former Nice player, who had already scored a few days earlier in the league against Toulouse. He thus confirms his return to form and his key role in the Marseille setup.

For Abdelli and Maza, this match also represented a great opportunity to shine in a top European clash. The Algerian midfielder for Bayer was particularly active in attack, while Gouiri ultimately drew the spotlight away from his compatriots.

With this victory, OM finally breaks its duck in the Europa League after three consecutive defeats and keeps hope alive of reaching the playoffs. A memorable evening for Gouiri, who continues to send encouraging signals ahead of the upcoming fixtures for the Algerian national team.
