Hamadi Arrives in Dakar for the Youth Olympic Games
Abdel Rahman Hamadi, President of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee, has arrived at Dakar International Airport in Senegal to attend the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
He was welcomed by Bachir Mokhtari, advisor to the Algerian ambassador in Senegal, along with Ben Ali Anwar.
Algeria is participating in this edition, which kicked off today, Saturday, October 31, and will run until Friday, November 13. The country is represented by 41 male and female athletes across 17 disciplines.
This participation is historic, as the "Dakar 2026" edition is the fourth Youth Olympic Games and the first Olympic event ever held on the African continent since the inception of the Games, under the slogan "Africa Welcomes, Dakar Celebrates."
It is worth noting that Dakar will host around 2,700 athletes from over 200 Olympic committees in the cities of Dakar, Diamniadio, and Saly.
