Jamal Salami Appointed New Coach of Al-Fateh
Al-Fateh SC has appointed Moroccan coach Jamal Salami as the new head coach of the team, succeeding Khalid Al-Attawi, to lead the club in the upcoming period.
Salami's first task will be a tough match against Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League on Friday, after the club's management reached an agreement with him to take over the coaching role.
On Thursday, Al-Fateh announced the termination of Al-Attawi's contract by mutual consent due to poor results, a decision that came after a disappointing start to the season for the team.
The club's management expressed gratitude to the former coach for his time with the team and the achievements he accomplished during his tenure.
Al-Fateh's management reached a final agreement with Salami after obtaining all necessary approvals, allowing the Moroccan coach to arrive in Saudi Arabia and quickly begin his new role.
Salami will make his debut on the bench for Al-Fateh during the match against Al-Ahli on Friday, in the eighth round of the Saudi Pro League, where it will be an early test for him to get the team back on track.
Al-Fateh has struggled with a poor start this season, managing to collect only 3 points out of a possible 21 under Al-Attawi's leadership, placing them in fifteenth position in the standings.
Salami's last coaching experience was with the Jordan national team, which he led to qualify for the 2026 World Cup for the first time in their history.
