Cycling World Championships: Paul Seixas leads the French team
At just 19 years old, Paul Seixas will be the sole and undisputed leader of France at the World Road Cycling Championships from September 20 to 27 in Montreal, heading a team entirely at his service. Fourth in the Tour de France in his debut at the end of July, Seixas will be joined for the road race in Montreal on Sunday, September 27, by two of his teammates from Decathlon CMA CGM, Nicolas Prodhomme and Jordan Labrosse. Experienced riders Pavel Sivakov and Bruno Armirail, along with Louis Barré, Valentin Paret-Peintre, and Alex Baudin, complete the roster. In Canada, Seixas will be the number one asset for the French team on a demanding 273 km course with 3,800 meters of elevation gain. The Lyonnais will also represent France in the 39.2 km time trial on September 20 alongside Bruno Armirail. For the women’s event, in the absence of Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, France will rely on Juliette Berthet, Cédrine Kerbaol, and the young Célia Géry, 20 years old.
