F1 25, the officially licensed title from EA centered around the 2025 F1 season, is now available for Sony's PlayStation Plus subscribers starting today. This allows PS5 users to incorporate it into their game library at no additional charge.

Wondering how to obtain it? From 6 October to 2 November, PlayStation Plus members on the Essential, Extra, or Premium tiers can download the game and retain it as long as their subscription remains active. If you're interested, you can also pick up Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, but - since this is Motorsport - we understand F1 is what you're after.

There is one caveat, though. This offer does not provide free access to the 2026 expansion, unimaginatively titled F1 25: 2026 Season Edition. Only the base game is part of the promotion. Nevertheless, you still receive Career mode, the team management sandbox of My Team 2.0, and online racing through F1 World. Plus, you can race on authentic F1 circuits, accurately recreated in the game through detailed LiDAR scans of the actual tracks.

This means venues like Bahrain, Miami, Melbourne, Suzuka, and Imola are as close to reality as possible.

However, you won't have access to teams that joined for the 2026 season, such as Audi and Cadillac, nor will you experience the new 2026 vehicles featuring Overtake Mode and active aerodynamic systems. It also excludes the new MADRING street circuit. But if you're eager for the latest experience, you can purchase the 2026 expansion as an add-on to the free base game for just £24.99 on the PlayStation Store or £22.49 with an EA Play discount.

Although F1 25 is now over a year old, EA has continued to support it extensively, and if you're as passionate about the championship as we are, it's definitely worth picking up.
