PSG is looking for a replacement for Achraf Hakimi

Paris Saint-Germain continues its efforts to find a suitable solution for the right-back position, primarily relying on Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, who remains the first choice in this role.

After failing to secure a player during the summer transfer window who would accept a secondary role behind Hakimi, the club's management has started exploring new names that could provide the coach with additional options throughout the season, especially with the pressure of domestic and European matches.

In this context, "CaughtOffside" reported that the Parisian club has turned its attention to Portuguese Alberto Costa, a player from Porto, who has also attracted interest from several English clubs.

PSG is looking for a full-back capable of giving Hakimi some rest and participating in certain matches in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League, without affecting the Moroccan player's primary position within the team's lineup.

However, the deal for Costa may face a financial hurdle, as the player moved to Porto from Juventus for 15 million euros, before signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2030, which includes a release clause of 65 million euros.

Despite PSG's significant financial capabilities, bolstered by the club achieving positive revenues exceeding 180 million euros during the summer transfer window, paying 65 million euros to sign a player whose main task would be to provide a backup for Hakimi is a decision that requires careful consideration.
