Criticism at the start of the season has not affected Stade Rennais' goals regarding Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal.
According to Foot Mercato, an agreement has been reached to extend the contract of the 20-year-old Moroccan defender, whose current deal runs until June 2028.
This decision demonstrates the Breton club's determination to continue betting on the former member of the Mohammed VI Academy, despite recent performances deemed unsatisfactory.
Franck Haise, his coach, along with Loïc Désiré, the club's sporting director, have not hesitated to call him to order. They criticized him, among other things, for not fully meeting expectations and for focusing too much on transfer opportunities.
Having been used four times since the start of the season, with a total of 280 minutes on the pitch, Aït Boudlal thus maintains his place in Rennes' plans. His extension could provide him with a conducive environment for his development.
