European Elite Clubs Eager to Sign Mazah.. Bayer Leverkusen Takes Steps to Strengthen His Contract
The discussion in European media about the potential departure of Algerian international player Ibrahim Mazah from Bayer Leverkusen has resurfaced, with several top clubs expressing interest in his services.
According to European media reports last Saturday, four major clubs have shown their desire to sign the "Fennecs" star.
In this context, Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur reported that Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Atlético Madrid have reopened discussions regarding the 20-year-old player, thanks to his performance since last season.
On another note, the same journalist indicated that Leverkusen, in light of the increasing interest in Mazah, has begun taking steps to improve the contract of the Algerian international, aiming to retain him and prevent interested clubs from signing him.
Fennecs Player Set to Return to Competition
Meanwhile, Mazah, a candidate for the "Kopa" award for the best young player in the world, is expected to return to competition in today's match between his club Leverkusen and visiting Leipzig, in the fourth round of the Bundesliga.
The Fennecs player missed his German club's last match in the Europa League last Wednesday against Slovenian side Celje due to health issues.
Leverkusen coach Carlos Martinez confirmed during the press conference before the Leipzig match that the Algerian international has resumed team training after his health improved.
Regarding Mazah's readiness, the Leverkusen coach said: "He trained today (Friday), and things look better. If everything continues to go well, he will be on the list for the Leipzig match."
