The U17 national team began a training camp on Friday, October 24, 2026, at the regional technical center in Tlemcen, in preparation for the upcoming U17 World Cup, which will take place in November in Qatar.

For this gathering, national coach Mr. Amine Ghimouz, accompanied by his assistant Sofiane Younes, selected 23 players, including Yacine Abed, who had temporarily been left with the U16 (U17 B) team of Karim Ziani.

He is not the only one returning to the squad, as Kaiserslautern midfielder Rayane Zidane has also been called up, along with Basel forward Mlewane Zaidi.

The young players participated in two training sessions on Saturday with 16 participants, awaiting the arrival on Monday of players based abroad. This camp, which will continue until November 1, will include three practice matches, the first of which is scheduled for this Monday against the U20 team of CR Témouchent.

Through this gathering, the technical staff aims to assess the players' physical condition before finalizing the roster for the World Cup. For reference, the national team will compete in the upcoming World Cup in Group J, alongside the United States, Chile, and Montenegro.
