National coach Mohamed Wahbi announced the list of the Moroccan national team that will participate in upcoming competitions during a press conference held at the Mohammed VI Football Center in Maamoura near Salé.
The list includes players called up to participate in Morocco's matches against Gabon and Lesotho in the first and second rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as well as a friendly match against the Ghanaian national team.
The squad consists of 29 players, led in goal by Yassine Bounou and Munir Mohand Mohamedi, along with Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti and Ala Belarrouch.
In defense, Wahbi called up Noussair Mazraoui, Anas Salah Eddine, Marouane Saadane, Nayef Aguerd, Ridouane Hlali, Issa Diop, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Achraf Hakimi, Zakaria Ouhadi, and Ali Maamer.
In midfield, the squad features Ayyoub Bouaddi, Samir Merabet, Wael Al-Ainawi, Osama Tergaline, Bilal Khnous, Sofiane Faouzi, Azeddine Ounahi, and Ismail Sabari.
In the attacking line, the national coach selected Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Abdallah Wazan, Ibrahim Diaz, Yassine Jassim, Yasser Zabiri, Sofiane Rahimi, and Tawfik Ben Tayeb.
This list comes as part of the national team's preparations to begin the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, with Wahbi relying on a mix of internationally experienced players with the "Atlas Lions" and young talents who have recently emerged to build a squad capable of competing at the continental level.
The list continues to feature several key players, including goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, defenders Achraf Hakimi and Nayef Aguerd, as well as Ibrahim Diaz, Bilal Khnous, Azeddine Ounahi, and Sofiane Rahimi, while also including young names aiming to establish their place in the senior national team.
