Women's Champions League: Lekie FF defeated by Mamelodi Sundowns

The Cameroonian women's league club, Lekie FF, suffered a defeat (2-1) yesterday against South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns at the Canal de Suez Stadium in Ismailia, during the second day of the CAF Women's Champions League.

The South African goals were scored by Refilwe Tholakele and Yvana Makana (own goal). Tim Shalom Makoma netted for Lekie, a goal that unfortunately did not allow Stéphane Ndzana's team to leave with any points. The Cameroonian women's club had already secured a draw against FUS Rabat on the opening day. This mixed performance can be attributed to the fact that it is the first time the Cameroonian club has reached this level of competition. Throughout the two matches, the Cameroonian team often struggled to control the game, with a midfield that was almost disorganized, although a solid defense was present and the attack managed to find the back of the net.

Lekie will play their third match on Saturday against Masar F. A victory will be essential to hope for qualification to the next round.
