Maaloul: “I hope Bouzouk's punishment isn't severe”
Belouzdad coach Nabil Maaloul praised his team's hard-fought victory against ES Sétif on Friday in the second round of the professional league.
The "Siyarabi" secured the win at the 5 July 1962 Stadium with a single goal from Yassir Bouzouk, who was sent off in the final moments after receiving two yellow cards.
Maaloul expressed his immense happiness with his first win in charge of the team, noting that the result was crucial against a strong opponent, despite their opening round loss at home, which he felt was "undeserved."
When asked about Bouzouk's red card in the post-match press conference, the Tunisian coach replied: “I wasn't focused on what happened with Bouzouk. At that moment, Sétif was in control, and I was about to make some changes in positions and tactics.”
He added: “Yassir is one of the best signings we've made, and he is an important player for us. He missed the first match due to health issues and spent three days in the hospital. I hope his punishment isn't severe and that he returns as soon as possible.”
