OFFICIAL: Arsenal Finalize Deal With Beşiktaş For Permanent Move Of Trossard.

Premier League title holders Arsenal have announced that Leandro Trossard is transferring to Turkish powerhouse Besiktas.

The Gunners made this announcement in a statement posted on their official site on Tuesday.

As per Arsenal, Trossard has received clearance to fly to Istanbul for a medical examination.

“We can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard,” Arsenal stated.

“With a transfer fee settled, Leo, 31, has been given permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and finalize the details of his transfer to the Turkish Super Lig club.

“We will provide an additional update once the transfer is finalized.”

According to Sky Sports, Trossard leaves Arsenal in a deal valued at £17m, which consists of an initial £15.3m with £1.7m in performance-related bonuses.

The Belgian international became a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad – featuring 174 times over three and a half years, netting 36 goals.

During Arsenal’s championship-winning season last year, Trossard scored eight goals and supplied 11 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions, while the Gunners also finished as runners-up in the Champions League.

Having scored one of the most significant goals in Arsenal’s Premier League history, Leandro Trossard will be remembered as one of the club’s most beloved cult figures.

That critical goal against West Ham on May 10 was pivotal in Arsenal’s title chase. After that, the Gunners’ title triumph was merely a formality. Quite impressive for a player acquired for just £27m in January 2023.

That moment encapsulated Trossard’s tenure at Arsenal – the Belgian consistently delivered in crucial situations for the team.

Seventeen of his 27 Premier League goals for the club either brought Arsenal level or put them ahead in matches – only Bukayo Saka has scored more such goals since Trossard’s arrival.

By selling the Belgian, Arsenal will be parting with a significant source of clutch plays, but this is an opportune moment to recoup much of the £27m invested in him – with Trossard now 31 and just one year remaining on his contract.

This move is also indicative of a possible reshuffle on the left wing, as Gabriel Martinelli’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2027. Arsenal could be approaching next season with entirely new options on that side.

Their primary target is Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, but PSG’s Bradley Barcola has also been mentioned as a viable leading choice.

Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis is another player Arsenal is considering to strengthen the left flank. Reports suggest that Tzolis would come at a price around £34m – a new record in the Belgian Pro League.
