African Karate Championship: Khadija Ghlam Secures Second Medal for Algeria

Algerian karateka Khadija Ghlam won a bronze medal on the first day of the African Karate Championship, held in Algiers from September 9 to 13.

The Algerian champion secured her victory in the women's 61 kg kumite category, marking the second medal for Algeria in this continental championship, following Nariman Dahleb's bronze in the women's kata.

Meanwhile, Ayoub Halassa advanced to the final in the men's 67 kg kumite after defeating Egyptian Mohamed Ashraf with a score of 6-5.

Shayma Oudira also secured her spot in the final for the over 68 kg category after winning against Tunisian Jimi Shahinaz. Additionally, fellow competitor Karima Makawi reached the final in the women's 68 kg kumite.

Louiza Abouriche had previously qualified for the final in the 55 kg kumite, alongside Saber Ben Makhlouf in the men's kata final, and Celia Wikan in the final for the 50 kg category.
