African Karate Championship: Louiza Abouriche defeats Moroccan Shaimaa Hayti to reach the final

Algerian champion Louiza Abouriche secured her place in the kumite final at the 2026 African Karate Championships.

The African Karate Championships opened today, Thursday, in Algeria and will run until next Sunday, September 13, featuring athletes from the cadet, junior, hopes, and senior categories.

Abouriche achieved a stunning victory on her way to the kumite final in the women's 55 kg category, defeating Moroccan champion Chaimae El Hayti with a score of 6-1.

With this, Algeria ensured its presence in 3 finals on the first day of the African Karate Championships, following Saber Ben Makhlouf in men's kata and Celia Wikan in the 50 kg category.
