The U23 national team arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Monday, September 28, 2026, to begin its second training camp ahead of the second preliminary round of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers – 2027, which will take place next November.

Led by Mr. Kamel Touil Adjel, a member of the Federal Bureau, the Algerian delegation left Algiers late Sunday night. They touched down at Johannesburg Airport at 06:45 (Algerian time), where they were received by Mr. Tadj Eddine Mahmoudi, representative of the Algerian embassy in South Africa.

For this preparation period, national coach Rafik Saifi will rely on 24 players, including three new recruits: defender Wael Guerroudja from CR Témouchent, midfielder Abdelaziz Kahia from CRB, and forward Mohamed Bouderbala from USMA.

They replace Abdelmalek Kelaleche, who was dropped for indiscipline, and Mohamed Ramdaoui, who is injured, while Willsem Boussaid, the Anderlecht forward, scored his first professional goal ten days ago.

The Greens will begin their first training session on Tuesday, September 29, at 10:00 local time (09:00 Algerian time). It is worth noting that two friendly matches against the South African team are scheduled during this camp, on October 1 and 4 in Durban.
