Patrick Zabi reaches a new milestone in his career. The 19-year-old midfielder makes his debut in the Elephants squad, announced by Hervé Renard on September 16. This call-up is the result of the rapid development of the player known to Ivorians as "Zabi la Magie."
Born in Yopougon, the young talent started playing football at a very young age before joining the Ivoire FC academy at 12. Alongside this, he made a name for himself on the maracana fields, particularly with the Cocody Maracana Club.
His experience in maracana helped him gain recognition in his country. Stade de Reims then took an interest in him and signed him in January 2025. Initially integrated into Pro 2, Zabi quickly progressed and made his way into the professional squad. The Reims club highlights his technical quality, ability to break lines with his passes, and boldness on the field. His development then opened the doors to Paris FC, which he is set to join in the summer of 2026.
Now a member of Paris FC in Ligue 1, Zabi's journey takes on new significance with the Elephants. Hervé Renard selected him among the eight new faces in his first squad since returning to lead Côte d'Ivoire.
At just 19 years old, "Zabi la Magie" makes the leap from the maracana fields of Cocody to the senior national team, with upcoming matches against Ghana, Somalia, and Cameroon on the horizon.
