Omar Fayad, the defender for Italian club Frosinone, is now among the options for Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, ahead of the announcement of the Pharaohs' squad for the September and October camp in preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Omar Fayad's chances of joining the national team increased following injuries to duo Yasser Ibrahim and Amr El-Gazzar. Yasser Ibrahim suffered an ankle sprain, while Amr El-Gazzar is dealing with a torn ACL.
The Egyptian national team's camp will begin on September 17 in preparation for matches against Angola and South Sudan in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Fayad began his football career in the youth sector of Arab Contractors before being promoted to the first team, after which he started his professional journey in Europe by joining Turkish club Fenerbahçe in August 2023 on a contract that runs until June 2027.
During his time with Fenerbahçe, the Egyptian defender had several loan spells to gain more playing opportunities and acquire European experience, playing with Serbian club Novi Pazar, then Belgian club Beerschot, before his latest stint with Portuguese club Arouca during the 2025-2026 season.
