The Administrative Court has dismissed all lawsuits filed by candidates who did not win the elections for the board of directors of Al-Zohour Sporting Club, which took place in October 2025.
The plaintiffs included Basma Sarhan and Ihab Abdel Azim, candidates for the position of treasurer, as well as Mai Faris, Mervat Hamid, Adel Mahmoud, Nasr Abdel Azim, and Tarek Anwar, candidates for council membership who were unsuccessful in the elections. They filed lawsuits aimed at overturning the election results, in which the Damardash list achieved a landslide victory.
The court confirmed in its ruling the validity of all procedures that took place during the elections of Al-Zohour Club, starting from the opening of nominations and acceptance of candidates' papers, to the adoption of the electronic voting system and its success in accurately and transparently recording voters' votes under the supervision of the competent judicial authority, with monitoring and support from the Ministries of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, as well as the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Administrative Prosecution Authority. This was part of a comprehensive system that ensured no manipulation or errors in the results.
The ruling stated that all procedures were conducted in accordance with the law and applicable regulations, meeting all standards of transparency and accuracy, without any technical or procedural errors that would compromise the confidentiality of the voting or its results. All supervisors from various entities maintained neutrality and integrity.
The court concluded that the elections of Al-Zohour Club were conducted in accordance with the legal competencies of the club's general assembly, which convened on 24/10/2025, ensuring freedom of expression within objective controls and under judicial supervision that guarantees the integrity of voters' will. The adoption of the results of the Al-Zohour Club elections was in compliance with the law, necessitating the rejection of all lawsuits filed to annul those elections.
